Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

By using GuitarOS, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

1. What GuitarOS is

GuitarOS is a free, general-audience practice-planning tool for guitarists. It generates practice sessions from a fixed set of deterministic rules and organizes links to third-party lesson videos, tabs, and backing tracks. It is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

2. Third-party content

GuitarOS does not host, own, or claim rights to any lesson video, tab, or backing track it links to or embeds. YouTube videos are embedded via YouTube's own player and remain the property of their respective creators and YouTube/Google. Links to Ultimate Guitar and Songsterr point to those services' own tab pages; we don't reproduce their tab content on this site. Chord diagrams shown on GuitarOS are original graphics generated by this site from chord names, not reproductions of any third party's chord charts.

We attempt to keep links current, but we don't control third-party sites and can't guarantee a given link or embed will always work. If you notice a broken link, the contact page is the place to report it.

3. Your use of the site

4. No professional advice

Nothing on GuitarOS constitutes professional music instruction. Suggested BPMs, difficulty ratings, and session lengths are general guidance, not a substitute for a qualified teacher — especially if you're managing an injury or a physical limitation that affects how you play.

5. Local data

Your practice profile is stored locally in your browser, as described in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for data loss from clearing browser storage, switching devices, or browser updates, since nothing is backed up on our end.

6. Advertising

GuitarOS may display ads served by Google AdSense or similar networks to support the cost of running the site. Ads are never shown inside the distraction-free Practice Mode screen.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
